This Month's Guest Speaker:

Natalie Zuk, Red Brennan Group

The Red Brennan Group is a non-profit organization based out of San Bernardino County. Their main slogan is that they believe in small government and big hearted communities. In August of 2019, they began circulating a petition to repeal the controversial FP-5 expansion and the $157 fire service fee that accompanied it. This November, the Red Brennan Group will have two of their initiatives featured on the ballot: the FP-5 repeal and another initiative for term limits and compensation limits for the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. Thanks to their signature gathering efforts, the Red Brennan Group successfully gathered enough signatures from registered voters who live within the FP-5 fire service zone. Now residents living in unincorporated portions of San Bernardino County will finally have a say in something they never got a fair chance to vote on in the first place. The nearby communities of Phelan, Wrightwood, and Piñon Hills, which have all been disproportionately targeted by the FP-5 fire service tax, helped them in their signature gathering efforts. Natalie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from San Francisco State University.  From human rights advocacy to mayoral campaigns, she has worked on various campaigns throughout the county and Southern California, on all sides of the political spectrum. A lifelong resident of San Bernardino County and attracted to the principles behind the Red Brennan Group’s efforts, Natalie has been with the Red Brennan Group for about one year now. As a signature gatherer, she had the opportunity to talk to as many as 800 constituents on any given day.
