Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies & Mixers
It's an honor to celebrate the grand opening of a new business or the reopening or milestone anniversary of an existing business. We encourage our members and the community to attend these events to learn more about the products and services offered and to show a warm welcome to the business owners and their teams. These ceremonies are often attended by a Community Leaders, and Phelan Chamber Ambassadors.
Installation & Awards Dinner
At this annual celebration, we deliver the Chamber's Year In Review, honor the volunteers who serve the Chamber, and give a big thank you to our sponsors. It's a time to join together, enjoy a great meal and have a little fun.
Easter Egg Hunt
This annual event has been going on longer than anyone can remember. Tri-Community kids and their parents assemble for the gala of Easter Egg Hunts. Over 4000 eggs are layed on the Diamondback football field where kids of all ages race to fill thier baskets full of goodies and treats. If the kiddoes are lucky enough to find a golden ticket in one of their eggs, they win a super special Easter gift basket that would make Willy Wonka jealous. As if that is not enough, there is a bounce house, kiddie games, an easter themed bake sale hosted by our Miss Phelan Court, and the always popular Easter raffle.
Starting in the mid-1960 as an employee appreciation BBQ, and once called the Phelan Phling, the now called Phelan Phamily Phun Days is the longest standing community celebration around. Downtown Phelan road is shut down for the Phun Days Parade which is followed by the Champagne Classic Car Show, burnout contest and open header competition. The Phun Zone is popular with the youngsters, there is plenty of vendors and booths and exhibits for every taste. And speaking of taste lots of great food from local restaurants, food trucks and booths. There is live entertainment from local groups, bands and clubs and at the end of the events is the crowning of the next Miss Phelan and her court.
Safe-n-sane Halloween trunk or Treat
Trick or treating in the desert presents a few complications. Houses can be few and far between and once you get to the front gate it may be a few hundred yards just to get to the front door and then the owner may not even have any treats or even a trick because you are the first to visit thier house in several years. The Phelan Chamber has solved this problem by hosting the Safe-n-Sane Halloween Trunk or Treat which takes place at the Phelan Town Square, Stater Bros. Plaza and Downtown Phelan. Businesses stay open just a little later to hand out treats to local costumed gouls, goblins, and superheros as they walk from door to door to each business. When they have finised that they head over to the Stater Bros. parking lot to the waiting clubs, churches, organizations and individuals who are all eager to join in on the good times by handing out treats and even more tricks from the "trunks" of thier cars. It is a great event that brings folks to the local businesses and brings the community together for a fun activity for the kids. And, who are we kidding, the adults too!
Music, music and more music! Saturday In The Park is a summer music series that brings a variety of musical acts to the Phelan Community Park for all to enjoy. Bring your lawn chair or blanket, sit on the grass and relax while listening to some great tunes. With the grandure of the the San Gabriel Mountain range to the south and the grand vista of the Mojave Desert to the north, and some great food and drink this series of events is a great break from the daily grind of life in Phelan.
Miss Phelan Pageant
If you like royalty then this is the event for you. The reign of Miss Phelan and her court lasts all year long with several appearances at Chamber events, community events and everything in between, is a great way to give back to the community. The Miss Phelan Pageant kicks things off every year just prior to Phelan Phamily Phun Days as Miss Phelan contestants vie for the top spot, being crowned one of the Miss Phelan.
The Phelan Chamber of Commerce Angel Tree program is a holiday program that assists families within the Tri-Community who otherwise wouldn't have the resources to celebrate Christmas. Local businesses, churches, organizations, and families who wish to participate may pick up an Angel Tree tag from one of several Angel Trees located at supporting businesses within the Tri-Community and purchase the items requested on the tag by the little angel.
