PHELAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PRESENTS

THE 2017 PHELAN PHAMILY PHUN DAYS FALL FESTIVAL

Phelan Phamily Phun Days Committee Forming Now

Phelan, California - The Phelan Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for the 2017 Phelan Phamily Phun Days Fall Festival.  An organizational committee meeting will take place at the Phelan Pizza Factory’s Meeting Room on March 28, 2017 beginning at 6:00pm.  Phun Days Committee Chairman Don Fish Jr is asking for anyone interested in volunteering to attend this meeting.

The Phelan Chamber of Commerce is reaching out to Chamber members and residents of the Tri-Community to assist in the planning and organizing of this event.  “We are looking for volunteers to work on various committees, each responsible for a specific part of Phun Days,” said Don, “We also need volunteers willing to put ‘boots on the ground.’ This is a community event, and I want to get the community involved.”

The Phelan Chamber of Commerce is proud to bring the 28th Annual Phelan Phun Days back to the Phelan Park and Community Center for three days in October.  Phelan Phun Days is one of the most anticipated events in the Tri-Community.  Each year thousands of residents and visitors attend the yearly event making it one of the most attended events in the Tri-Community.  Guests will enjoy a parade down Phelan Road through the center of town, three days of carnival rides, live music from local bands, local vendor/community booths and live entertainment from local businesses, clubs, schools and organizations.  Returning this year will be the 4H Petting Zoo, FFA Pumpkin Patch, and Fire Explorer Pancake Breakfast.  The Dusty Spurs equestrian group will also return with a Gymkhana, Cowboy Obstacle Challenge, and Western Dressage Playday.  And back by popular demand, the car show and burn-out contest.

“There is a lot of work to be done and we need volunteers to make a successful Phun Days,” said Don. Fish Jr.  “The car show and burn-out contest will be returning this year, we’ll be expanding the equestrian events and the parade will be bigger and better than ever. There’s a lot to do and we need a lot of help to make a successful event!”

"The Land of Champagne Climate"

Spread across the desert foothills of the eastern San Gabriel Mountains, between elevations of 3,000 and 4,000 feet, is Phelan California, an unincorporated San Bernardino County community enjoying over 350 sunny and beautiful days each year.

Only 90 minutes from Los Angeles, 30 minutes from San Bernardino and 15 minutes from Victorville, Phelan stands out as a down to earth community filled with pride. The rugged San Gabriel Mountains reach into the sky and provide a dramatic backdrop. Individual peaks, such as Wright, Pine and Table mountains define themselves as sentinals, keeping watch over this rural community.

The Mormon Trail cut through the plains and crossed over the edge of the Mojave Desert foothills of the West Cajon Valley to the south. Here the pioneers took apart their wagons and lowered them down into the canyons. They would camp at the Mormon Rocks before the final leg of their journey to San Bernardino and points beyond.

El Mirage Dry Lake and the Shadow Mountains lie at the northern edge of the valley. The hard-as-rock floor of the playa reflects the horizons to the east and west as if the lake bed were clear water, undisturbed and smooth as glass.
