Senator Suzette Martinez Valladares

Senator Suzette Martinez Valladares (R-Santa Clarita) represents SD 23, covering the Santa Clarita, Antelope, and Victor Valleys. Before her Senate term, she served as Assemblywoman from 2020-2022. A small business owner and special needs advocate, public service is central to who Suzette is. As Minority Whip and founding member of the California Hispanic Legislative Caucus, she is focused on delivering pragmatic solutions to the affordability crisis, restoring public safety and expanding opportunities for all Californians. The first Republican Latina to serve in both the Assembly and Senate, Suzette has deep roots in Southern California, is a graduate of College of the Canyons and CSUN, and lives in Acton with her husband Shane and daughter Charlotte.
