About Phelan Phamily Phun Days
Phelan Phamily Phun Days is a long-standing tradition in the Tri-Community which consists of Phelan, Pinon Hills, Wrightwood and the surrounding areas. Having started out as an employee appreciation BBQ for Swish Poultry Farm employees in the mid-sixties the BBQ quickly moved to downtown Phelan and became a community wide event. The annual event became known as the Phelan Phling which consisted of a wild weekend of whooping it up and blowing off steam from a years worth of hard work. In the late eighties, the name was changed to Phelan Phamily Phun Days to emphasize that it was an event for the whole family. To this day "Phun Days" as the locals like to call it, remains a family event celebrating the things that make the community great.
The annual event kicks off with the Phun Days Parade where spectators gather to watch parade entries ranging from wacky cars and vehicles to antique tractors to the Diamondback Marching Band and equestrian entries from local horse clubs and individuals riding mules, marching with their clubs or youth sports teams and just about anything else you can think of.
The rest of the day is filled with the always popular Champagne Climate Car Show. The Phun Zone is always popular with the youngster (and young at heart) and the is always all kinds of great food and beverages for the kids and adults. There are even tons of booths from local businesses and crafters, local clubs, local churches, and local service organizations. Be sure to mark your calendars and come on out and support a great community event brought to you by the Phelan Chamber of Commerce.
